On March 4-5, in Albany, New York, members of the Textile Rental Service Association (TRSA) gathered for their 2nd Annual New York State Legislative Conference. This conference aims to bolster TRSA’s efforts against congestion pricing, which could lead to a price gouge of more than $25 per trip to any delivery truck that enters Manhattan. In the past, TRSA was successful in keeping this proposal away from the linen, uniform and facility services industry, but there presently is a motion to reinstate the issue.
Our Vice President, Steven Wright, joined the members of TRSA last week in discussing the current state of the issue and meeting with state legislators (including members of the Senate and House Assembly) to communicate their position and ensure that their voice will be heard in the ongoing debates surrounding congestion pricing.
New York Assemblyman David Weprin (D-NY) told the group, “It is important that you are here to represent yourself on this issue, if you don’t no one else will. As an industry group, instead of playing defense, you should find ways to play offense to address any issues affecting your industry.”
At Irvine Weber Associates, Inc., we support TRSA and their mission. We invite you to read more about TRSA and their efforts here.
Founded in 1912, the Textile Rental Service Association (TRSA) aims to represent and support the linen, uniform and facility services industry and promote a safer, more environmentally conscious community. TRSA serves as a voice for this industry, advocates for fair regulatory and legislative policy, conducts research to help members improve their efforts, and does much more to strengthen the linen, uniform and facility services companies that they represent.
